In this just-published study, researchers discovered that a Chinese variety of amla berry killed up to 98% of human liver cancer cells in vitro. Not surprisingly, amla (also called Indian Gooseberry) has been used for centuries as a liver tonic in traditional Ayurvedic, Chinese and Thai medicine, and also as a natural anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and pain reliever.
